Why take this course

Champions are how change takes hold day to day and keeps going after the project team leaves, but only if they are well chosen, trained and supported.

What you will be able to do

To prepare people to help colleagues and keep the new way of working going. By the end, you will be able to:

  • Explain the change clearly and honestly to colleagues.
  • Coach peers through hesitation and local resistance.
  • Collect and pass up useful feedback.
  • Keep the network active after the project team has gone.
  • Tell leaders, in simple terms, whether people are using the new way.

What you will cover

  1. 1

    Launch day

The champion role, understanding the change, listening and coaching, handling push-back, passing feedback on and a local action plan.

  2. 2

    Follow-up clinic (about week 4)

Early wins and worries, practice coaching colleagues, signs that people are using the new way, keeping the network going and the handover plan.
